Well Registration Portal Walk Through
Watermark Onboarding
Eastern Management Area GSA — a landowner's step-by-step guide: create your account, claim your parcels, and register your wells.
End-User Guide
Create your Watermark account
Every EMA landowner starts with a free Watermark account at watermark.mljenvironmental.com.
- New to Watermark? In the New to Watermark? panel on the right, click Register.
- Already have a Watermark account with another GSA? Just Sign In here with your existing email and password.
- Complete the form and click Sign Up; you will be prompted to confirm your email.
Tip: Landowners use this main portal — the Admin Portal link (top right) is for EMA staff only.
Confirm your email
Watermark sends a verification email to activate your new account.
- After signing up, check your inbox for a verification email from Watermark.
- Didn't get it? Click Resend Verification to send a new email.
Tip: Check spam / junk if the email does not arrive within a few minutes.
Create your password
The confirmation email brings you here to set a password and activate the account.
- Follow the link in the confirmation email to the Create Password page.
- Enter and confirm your new password, then Create Account — your Watermark account is now active.
Tip: Passwords need at least 6 characters with one uppercase, one lowercase, and one number.
Getting Started
Once your password is set, Watermark opens the Getting Started page.
- Read the on-screen instructions for setting up your account.
- Click Get Started at the bottom to move on — it takes you straight to Add Water Account, right where the next slide picks up.
Tip: Onboarding is three steps: create a water account, add your parcels, and add your wells if required.
Create a Water Account
A Water Account is the container that groups the parcels you manage.
- Get Started takes you straight to the Add Water Account page.
- Fill in the fields on each page, then click Next at the bottom to continue.
Tip: Your Water Account is not the same as your Watermark Account — think separate utility bills for different households. You can create more than one.
Add your parcels
Watermark confirms your Water Account and offers your next move.
- After creating a Water Account you'll see Water Account Created! — choose Manage Parcels to start claiming your land.
- Managing land under separate accounts? Pick Add Another Account first, then claim parcels into each.
Tip: Your Water Account groups the parcels you claim — like separate utility bills for different properties.
Claim parcels by Verification Code
EMA mailed you a Verification Code — this is where you use it.
- Under Have you received a mailer?, select the GSA that sent it — choose Eastern Management Area GSA.
- Enter the Verification Code printed on the letter EMA mailed you.
- Click Look Up to find the parcels tied to your code.
Tip: The verification code is unique to you — it links your real parcels to your account.
Claim parcels by Verification Code
EMA mailed you a Verification Code — this is where you use it.
- Select Eastern Management Area GSA, enter the Verification Code from your mailed letter, and click Look Up. Your code and GSA appear at the top.
- Use Claim to Water Account to choose which account these parcels go under.
- Check the box next to each APN you want — or click parcels on the map. The location pin finds a parcel on the map.
- Click Claim Selected. A popup lets you claim more parcels or open the Parcel Map.
Tip: This EMA verification step links your real parcels to your account — the code is unique to you.
Your parcels on the map
Claimed parcels appear on your Parcels page, ready for wells.
- Open Parcels from the menu — your claimed parcels are highlighted on the map.
- Use the + / – buttons to zoom to a parcel.
- Switch between Water Accounts with the account selector (top right).
Tip: No well on a parcel? Open its cog and mark No Wells on Parcel — you can also note recycled or surface water there.
Register a well
Add each well straight from its parcel on the map.
- Click your parcel on the map to open its card — it shows the APN and Eastern Management Area GSA. Manage Parcel opens its details.
- To add a well, click Register Well. Watermark confirms the well's latitude/longitude, then opens the registration form.
Tip: Each parcel can have multiple wells — repeat for every well you operate.
Complete well registration
The Well Registration form walks you through everything EMA needs.
- The form has sections — Introduction, Location, Identification, and more — listed down the left.
- Review what you'll need, then click Next. Complete each section, clicking Next to save as you go — then Submit on the last one.
Tip: You'll need details like status, well type, drilling info, and pump/extraction data — fill in what you can.
Manage your Water Accounts
The Water Accounts page is your at-a-glance hub for everything you manage.
- The Water Accounts page lists each account with its primary contact, parcel count, and well count.
- Open an account's cog for Account Details, Water Use, Manage Parcels, or Manage Wells.
- Create more accounts anytime with Add Account, or Join by Code.
Tip: Share an account from Account Details → Invite Member (using its Access Code), and add operators under Contacts → Add Contact.
You're all set up.
Your account is active, your parcels are claimed, and your wells are registered. You can revisit any step anytime from your Watermark dashboard.
